McKinlay Video

In January, 2012, I was delivered a video from my cousins.  They had found it in their mother's (my aunt) belongings after she had passed away.  I captured some of the images so that I could identify the individuals in the video.
This film was likely made in 1923.  The early consumer film cameras and projectors were introduced in the early 1920s.  The Eastman Kodak 16 mm camera, projector and tripod cost about $335 in 1923.  A new Ford automobile cost $550.

This may have been the children or Arch McKinlay and Louiette Stephens - Dottie, Bunny and Marjean.

Susan Lorena in the middle and William Nephi Stephens to the right.

On the left is Arch McKinlay, on the right is Louiette.  Arch may be holding my mother Dottie McKinlay (Packer). Dottie was born in 1918.  If she is five years old in the picture it would have been 1923  They lived in Newdale, Idaho at the time, but were likely visiting Louiette's parent's home.

This Louiette and likely her sister Mary.

William Nephi Stephens driving a team of horses. Note that he is wearing work gloves and a tie.  Also, note the building behind is made of rough hewn logs.  It was likely a barn.

Grandpa William Nephi Stephens on the right holding a grandchild.  Note that he is still wearing his work gloves.

The family was taking a trip to the East.  To see the LDS Church History sites in Illinois and New York.  As they traveled, they camped in tents and cooked over open fires.8

These Pony Express stables were at at Fort Bridger, Wyoming

Note the very cool old car.15
